Working with Natural England, Berwick Film Festival and Berwick Museum this event served a dual purpose – cleaning up the environment and creating art. Making connections with the film festival’s theme of Border Crossings we reckon that a large proportion of the tidal litter and flotsam and jetsam washed up on the shores of Holy Island originates from coastal towns and communities near the Island. Therefore, with the help of volunteers we have collected, classified and transformed items found on the beach and will return these to the closest large town to the Island: Berwick where they will be used as part of an exhibition there in September.
