Washed up on the North Shore of Lindisfarne, about 3ft in diameter. Sighted on 24th July 2014. Probably a Lion’s Mane jellyfish Cyanea capillata. The largest known species of jellyfish, confined to cold waters, The Arctic, Northern Atlantic, and Northern Pacific Oceans. Common in the English Channel, Irish Sea and North Sea.
