Granfer: Trailer and Credits
Information
Date: 2014
Location: Lindisfarne
Category: (Granfer: A film for the shelter museum)
Granfer (2014) is a collaborative film conceived by Adam Phillips and Sally Madge, and directed by Adam Phillips. Shot on 16mm film, Granfer is a grainy, flickering document of a mysterious event, harking back to found Pathe News footage of Lindisfarne history as well as referencing contemporary European folklore where weird and wonderful costumes are worn and the ‘wild man’ evokes life and death during rituals that stretch back centuries. Filmed on location at the Shelter site, Granfer features a strange creature almost indistinguishable from the ancient bedrock, leaving his coastal home to start an uncertain journey with an unknown purpose.
